Gomfrena, which we also commonly call the globe amaranth, is an annual plant originating in arid areas of America, characteristic of tropical zones. Traditional flower garlands are made of this flower in Asian countries such as Nepal and Polynesia. In Europe, it is grown mainly as an ornamental plant. Interestingly, its flowers are a decoy for butterflies.
